2012 Year of the Survivor Conference

10th Anniversary Celebration & Conference: Confronting the Crimes & Cover-up of Sexual Abuse by the Boston Clergy

Survivors of clergy sexual abuse and leaders in law, mental health, media and child protection are coming together on January 6 - 8, 2012 at the Holiday Inn Beacon Hill, to mark the 10th anniversary of the media exposé that broke the clergy sexual abuse scandal in Boston. Conference attendees will recognize and celebrate the contributions of those who worked to reveal the story of child sexual abuse and exploitation and its cover up by Church leaders. The event will provide an opportunity for survivors to reenergize their efforts and a safe place for survivors who wish to come forward for the first time. It will look back at how the crisis has and continues to trigger disclosures of clergy sex abuse across the globe. Importantly, the event will focus on educating attendees about the latest developments in the field of child sexual abuse prevention and advocacy. The event is open to anyone who is a survivor or supporter of child sexual abuse prevention and advocacy.
